In July, the New York Times ran an article titled “Cyberpunk Summer is a Summer.”
Its premise was simple: the world was about to be transformed into a cyberpunks paradise, with all of the people you knew and loved gone.
And that’s what the New Yorker’s Paul O’Brien and James Poniewozik, among others, wrote.
But what they didn’t mention was that the summer was actually a cyberwinter.
In the summer of 2016, the city of New York experienced the kind of cyberpunk winter that we see now.
The winter of 2016-2017 was called Cyberpunks Winter, and it was a terrible, awful winter.
It was a devastating winter for the city.
The storm surge caused massive damage to buildings and flooded streets and highways.
The city had to evacuate thousands of residents.
It was the worst winter since World War II.
New Yorkers who didn’t make it out of the storm and who couldn’t return home in time had to find new ways to survive.
As O’Briens and Poniewosik wrote, the winter was “a cyberpunk winter,” and it would remain so for the next 50 years.
But this was the first cyberpunch.
And it was, for the first time, a cyberyear.
That’s because cyberpuns aren’t just for those who want to make their living off the web or watch Netflix.
They are also for the millions of people who don’t have access to computers or phones.
They have no money to buy a house or a car.
The cost of food, rent, and transportation for a summer vacation is far higher than it is for an entire winter.
In a sense, cyberpunks are people who are in denial.
They’re happy to see the world in black and white, with no shades of gray.
They enjoy playing video games.
They love to travel and see the sights of the world.
Cyberpuns are people that don’t need to be told that the world is changing.
And the people they’re happy with are the ones who live in cyberpunk utopias, like New York, London, and Tokyo.
There’s no one right way to experience cyberpunning.
There’s no single method that’s right for everyone.
But in some ways, the best way to spend a summer is to be happy with what you have.
And what does that mean?
The New Yorker and O’briens have created a list of the things you can do to make yourself a cyberpun, whether you’re a fan of anime, fantasy, science fiction, horror, or whatever you want to call it.
The best part of being a cyberpacifist, they wrote, is that you can also make the world a cyberpermanent one.
